Hill House is set in the heart of the village of Kelsale, next to the church, famous for its Arts and Crafts Lychgate by the architect Edward Prior. The village itself is a charming chocolate-box-lid scene with the quiet River Fromus passing between a cluster of Tudor timber-framed cottages.

The joinery in Hill House shows that it was built just before the Wars of the Roses - say 1470 - but you have to come inside to discover this. Like so many houses of that period the front facade was later given a Georgian face-lift which completely disguises the interior.

The house provides generous and comfortable accommodation. Breakfast is served in the spacious Dining Hall, with its galleried landing. Guests enjoy the use of the Drawing Room with an inglenook fireplace. Every bedroom has its own ensuite facilities. The guests' bedrooms comprise one double and two twin rooms.
